Macaws are the largest parrots in the world and can be found from the southern Mexico to Peru, as well as Bolivia, eastern Brazil and the island of Trininad. They prefer to spend their time in tall trees in humid tropical forests where they also nest from January through April. It is important to learn more about macaws and help eliminate habitat devastation due to environmental changes as well as the risks of unregulated exotic pet market.

Fortunately, there are lots of wonderful zoos and various organizations that are doing a great job at protecting and promoting macaws well-being among all other animals under their care.
