A Note to Children...

Dear Children,

Macaws are the largest parrots in the world and can be found from southern Mexico to Peru, as well as Bolivia, eastern Brazil and the island of Trinidad. They prefer to spend their time in tall trees in humid tropical forests where they also nest from January through April.
This is the story of Ingo, a scarlet macaw who while nursing her eggs in the hole of a dead canopy tree drifts off to sleep and dreams of flying about into the lush evergreen forest she calls home. With every turn of the page, hand-crafted collages filled with fun details and wrapped in Disney-like colors invite you to make inferences as to what the characters are thinking, feeling and doing. I hope you will love this special story as much as I did creating it just for you.

Ingo's dream is the perfect window into a new world of unexpected vistas, colors and shapes. At first, things may not seem to make much sense. After all, it is not everyday that you see a shark eating cupcakes with gusto or a merry band of birds& frogs piggybacking on a chubby fish or even a solitary wolf improbably wrapped in a rainbow. Yet, don’t feel discouraged and most importantly, don’t feel scared in front of the unexpected and the unknown. Much like Ingo, rely on your ability to keep an open mind in order to embrace what at first may seem strange. Remember, it is very important to learn how to be understanding, tolerant and kind. It is also equally important to understand that your voice is your own and you should do your very best to cultivate it.
